Nancy R. Smit, MBA, RPT, RRT
Nancy R. Smit is a Partner with Rosen, Sapperstein & Friedlander, LLC (RS&F), a Maryland-based accounting and business consulting firm. She leads the healthcare consulting division of RS&F and is directly responsible for all aspects of the firm’s healthcare consulting and advisory services, from reviewing and analyzing physician practices and healthcare organizations, through the design and implementation of strategic plans, networking arrangements, compliance and process improvement programs for the firm’s broad range of for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare clients. Nancy is intimately familiar with the regulatory and reimbursement issues impacting healthcare organizations today and directs the firm’s healthcare marketing and management services.
Nancy received her undergraduate degree in physical therapy (RPT) from University of Connecticut, her respiratory therapy degree (RRT) from University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics and her master’s in business degree (MBA) from Loyola College, Baltimore, Maryland.
She is the former CEO of SHR Associates, Inc., a healthcare consulting firm that she founded in 1981 and merged with RS&F in 2016. Nancy previously held positions as a physical therapist for several large Washington area hospitals, and was Director of Rehabilitation Medicine for a large academic hospital in Washington, D.C. She is a member and frequent speaker for the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and coordinates the firm’s affiliations with The Medical Society of Maryland (MedChi) and the Palm Beach County Medical Society (PBCMS). She also serves on several boards including the Foundation Board of Hospice of the Chesapeake, the Board of Trustbridge and the Board of the Lung Association of the Palm Beaches.
