WEST PALM BEACH, FL (April 12, 2018) – Applications are now available online for the Sea Star Program’s Camp Stingray, taking place June 4-8, 2018, at the Palm Beach County Therapeutic Recreation Complex in Lake Worth.
Hosted each summer by Trustbridge, Camp Stingray brings together children ages 5-10 who have lost a loved one, together for support and friendship. Camp counselors and volunteers provide an environment that is safe and fun as young campers participate in sharing their stories, listen to music, engage in art, outdoor activities and games, and play organized cooperative sports.
“Our bereavement counselors and volunteers at Camp Stingray will guide campers in coping with the loss of a loved one, help them identify ways to cope with change and improve their self-esteem, assist them in learning to recognize and validate feelings, and most importantly, have campers recognize that having fun and celebrating are still a part of life,” said Michelle Miller, Senior Manager of Bereavement with Trustbridge.
The Sea Star Program’s Camp Stingray is free for all campers. To download a camp application, visit www.trustbridge.com. Following receipt of the application, parents/guardians will be contacted by Trustbridge bereavement staff to further assess eligibility.
Applications must be received by May 21, 2018. Completed applications may be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. They can also be faxed to (561) 273-2267 to the attention of Christina Herwig, or mailed to Trustbridge Bereavement Center, Attn: Christina Herwig, 300 Northpoint Parkway, Suite 305, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407.
