Trustbridge To Host The Annual Angel Candlelight Ceremony
Event provides hope and healing in memory of children
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – In honor of National Day of the Child, Trustbridge will hold its annual candlelight ceremony at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, at the Christmas Box Angel Statue in Kelsey Park, Lake Park. The angel monument honors children of all ages who have died, and provides comfort and support to their families.
The Christmas Box Angel Statue was introduced to the world in the book The Christmas Box, the bestselling book by author Richard Paul Evans. In the book, a woman mourns the loss of her child at the base of an angel monument. Though the story is mostly fiction, the angel monument once existed, but is speculated to have been destroyed. Evans commissioned a new angel statue in order to provide grieving parents and families with a place to heal. The original Christmas Box Angel Statue is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. However, throughout the years, Angel Statues have been erected in more than 120 different locations worldwide.
Since the 1990s, when serving the community as Hospice of Palm Beach County, Trustbridge has held a candlelight ceremony at the Angel Statue located in Kelsey Park. Hospice of Palm Beach County funded the creation of the statue, and commemorative bricks encircle the site.
“We hold the annual Angel Ceremony to give families hope by providing a sacred space to grieve the loss of their child, of any age, to honor them, memorialize their life, and find courage to move forward in their grief journey,” said Trustbridge Bereavement Counselor Lisa Salcedo. “This is an important part of the healing process.”
Kelsey Park is located at 725 Lakeshore Drive, Lake Park, Florida 33404. Since the event is held outdoors, please dress accordingly. For additional information, please call Trustbridge at (561) 227-5175.
